New Esstech composite shrinks only 2%

Esstech has introduced FIT 852 resin, a methacrylated urethane monomer that shrinks only 2% on cure without filler, the company announced.

All composites contract during polymerization. According to Esstech, the industry-standard resin, BisGMA, can shrink 5% upon curing, while UDMA, another common resin base, loses 4% of volume when polymerized.
