ADA names ADA Practice Institute chief

The ADA has promoted David Preble, DDS, JD, to vice president of the newly created ADA Practice Institute.

Dr. Preble previously served as director of the ADA Council on Dental Benefit Programs since 2007, the ADA noted in a press release.

The Practice Institute will provide input on programs, products, and services to help ADA members better operate their dental practices. It will also promote the interests of the dental profession on healthcare finance, health outcomes and quality, and informatics and standards.

Dr. Preble, 59, graduated from Georgetown University Dental School in Washington, DC, and from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami Gardens, FL. He practiced general dentistry for more than 20 years before joining the ADA staff in 2006 as the director of the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
