ACP announces recipients of 2014 Awards of Distinction

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) has announced the recipients of its 2014 Awards of Distinctions. Through its awards program, the ACP formally recognizes individuals whose contributions to the specialty or the college are outstanding and substantial. These individuals will be honored on Friday, November 7, at ACP's Annual Awards & President's Dinner during this year's American College of Prosthodontists annual meeting in New Orleans from November 5-8.

The following are this year's award recipients:

  • The Dan Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Charles J. Goodacre, DDS, based in Loma Linda, CA, past president of the ACP and dean of the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.
  • The Educator of the Year Award goes to Hiroshi Hirayama, DDS, DMD, the director of the Tufts Prosthodontic Residency Program for 20 years.
  • The Clinician/Researcher Award goes to Dr. Kenneth S. Kurtz, of Academic Prosthodontics of Long Island in New Hyde Park, NY, who, along with his many teaching positions, has co-authored 36 scientific papers.
