Univ. of Chicago offers dentists new social sciences program

For dentists and dental students who wish to explore the intersection of oral health, systemic health, and society, the University of Chicago has launched a new doctoral program in social sciences.

The Program in Dentistry, the Social Sciences, and Health (DeSH) seeks to train dentists and dental students to become clinician-scholars and researchers.

Those accepted to the program will receive tuition and stipend support from the George E. Richmond Foundation, but the program does not provide funding support for dental school, according to the university.
