Doctors in Ariz. to get more dental education

Lecture Hall University

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix and Delta Dental of Arizona have collaborated to enhance oral health education for medical students.

The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation made an $850,000 investment into the university’s Oral Health in Medicine Initiative to integrate an oral health curriculum into medical education.

The partnership's goal is to enhance the capabilities of future physicians in addressing health disparities and recognizing the link between oral health and overall wellness. By doing so, they aim to improve the health outcomes of underserved patients and communities.

The program will comprise classroom teaching and practical training and is expected to launch in the 2024-2025 academic year, which begins in July.
