A Marshalltown, IA, woman faces multiple charges stemming from her alleged embezzlement of more than $173,500 from the Plaza Family Dental Practice, according to an article in the Times-Republican.
The charges against Michelle Lynne Allen include one count of ongoing criminal conduct, two counts of first-degree theft, three counts of forgery, and one count of identity theft. Allen was office manager at the practice from 2006 through 2010.
An investigation began in December after the practice notified the Marshalltown Police of the discrepancies, according to the story. Allen allegedly misappropriated money through personal checks to herself and illegitimate fund transfers.
