Pankey group raises $100K for UNC dental school

The Pankey Study Club of Eastern North Carolina has raised more than $100,000 for the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry's Koury Oral Health Sciences Building.

The 216,000 square-foot expansion project will be completed this month, according to the university.

The funds collected by the group, which is affiliated with the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL, will name one of the seminar rooms in honor of L.D. Pankey, DDS. Their contributions, and those from other donors in Virginia, will also enable the creation of a scholarship fund that will help send a UNC faculty member to the Pankey Institute for advanced education and training each year.
