ADA issues spam alert

The ADA is warning about spam emails sent on July 25 that appeared to come from the organization.

The bogus emails try to trick recipients into clicking on the link "Secure account log in," which try to get personal information and could infects computers with viruses, according to an ADA News report.

The ADA is advising recipients of the message to delete it without opening it or accessing the enclosed link.

About a dozen individuals have so far reported receiving the messages. The ADA is trying to determine the source of the email addresses. The ADA does not sell, rent, or publish the email addresses of current or former member dentists in its database.
