The global dental materials market is projected to grow from an estimated $6.6 billion in 2026 to $12.4 billion by 2036, a compound annual growth rate of 6.5%, according to an October 19 report from Research and Markets.
The report attributes the growth to rising rates of dental disease, demand for cosmetic dentistry, and an aging population with higher rates of edentulism. Wider use of CAD/CAM systems, 3D printing, and digital workflows is also a factor.
Indirect restorative materials, including ceramics used in crowns and bridges, are expected to hold the largest market share in 2026. Dental biomaterials, such as bone grafts and membranes used in implantology, are projected to grow the fastest. The report also notes that the regulatory phase-down of dental amalgam is creating demand for alternative restorative materials.
North America is expected to lead the market in 2026 followed by Europe and Asia-Pacific. Asia-Pacific is projected to grow fastest.
