Viome launches oral cancer detection test

Viome Life Sciences has launched Oral Health Pro with CancerDetect that can detect oral and throat cancer.

The test, which is available now, measures gene expression of the oral microbiome and human cells in a patient’s saliva to identify early biomarkers associated with oral and throat cancer. The test uses RNA sequencing technology and artificial intelligence and has a specificity of 95% and a sensitivity of 90%, according to Viome.
