A couple was arrested on July 16 after a dental chair, instruments, and drugs were found at an apartment in Oklahoma where they were allegedly operating a fraudulent dental practice, according to multiple news stories.

Carol Gutierrez-Herrera, 38, is charged with unlicensed dentistry, and she and an unidentified man believed to be her partner have been charged with having a gun while committing a felony and obstructing justice.
Also, Herrera is charged with having a gun while being in the U.S. illegally, according to the stories. Currently, the pair remains in jail.
The Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry discovered the fraudulent practice after a former patient learned from a dentist that the treatment she reportedly received from Herrera-Gutierrez was incorrect. When authorities served a search warrant on the apartment, they found a dental chair, tools, and drugs, according to the stories.
Investigators believe that at least 40 people had undergone dental treatment at the apartment. More charges may be pending.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
