A Texas dentist accused of feeding drugs and alcohol to a female high school student and sexually assaulting her multiple times in 2025 has been indicted, according to a story published on April 1 by cbs4local.com.

Dr. Oscar Vargas, 68, who operates a practice in El Paso, TX, was indicted on 11 counts, including sexual assault of a child, aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child, and possession of child pornography.

In January, police learned of the dentist’s alleged behavior after the mother of the high school student found lewd text messages and images on the girl's phone from Vargas. The mother contacted the local sheriff’s office, according to the story.

The alleged victim told authorities that Vargas picked her up from school and took her to his home on multiple occasions between July and November 2025. After purportedly plying her with alcohol, marijuana edibles, and the sex-enhancing drink Pink Pussycat, she claims that Vargas sexually assaulted her. After the reported assaults, the girl said Vargas would send her money electronically via a mobile payment app.

Additionally, Vargas allegedly took the child to a pharmacy to obtain the morning-after pill before dropping her off at school. The girl claims that Vargas regularly sent her photos of his genitals and videos of him masturbating. Also, the girl claimed that the dentist recorded parts of the assaults with his phone.

Furthermore, police heard voicemails in which Vargas allegedly said the girl would "belong to him" once she turned 18.

Texas state representative Vince Perez is seeking to have Vargas’ dental license suspended while his case moves through the court system, according to the story.
