A credit supervisor at Henry Schein accused of embezzling about $1.6 million from the company and using it to pay for luxury vacations and more was sentenced to 30 months in prison, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Tony Ream, also known as Yony Ream-Hendley and Tony Moul Ream, 35, must also pay $1.6 million in restitution and a $1,000 fine. In September 2025, Ream, of Greenville, SC, pleaded guilty to wire fraud, according to a press release dated September 24 from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

“Tony Ream’s theft betrayed the trust of his employer and their customers out of selfish greed. The FBI continues to hold accountable fraudsters who utilize the wallets of unsuspecting clients to finance their personal purchases,” James C. Barnacle Jr., assistant director in charge of the FBI New York Field Office, said in the press release.

In 2019, Ream was hired by Schein, one of the world’s largest providers of healthcare solutions for office-based dental and medical practitioners, to work in its credit department, eventually becoming a credit supervisor.

From approximately October 2020 to November 2024, Ream siphoned corporate funds from customer refund accounts, some of which were inactive, and diverted the funds to his own personal accounts. He reportedly hid the fraud by recording each transaction as a refund that was issued to a customer, according to the press release.

Additionally, authorities claimed that Ream deceived his subordinates into unwittingly taking steps that facilitated his embezzlement scheme.  In total, Ream purportedly embezzled approximately $1.6 million from Henry Schein.

Furthermore, Ream reportedly used the stolen money to pay for his wedding, luxury international vacations, and a failed restaurant venture in South Carolina, according to the press release.
