At about 11:30 p.m. on October 2, police responded to a store for a report of an armed assault. While searching for the person of interest, a driver flagged down an officer, claiming he saw a man draw a firearm and point it at someone, according to the story.

The driver told police that the man with the gun got into a blue BMW and possibly put the handgun back in the vehicle. Police found the vehicle and talked to Israel. Police saw the handgun sitting in the cupholder of the vehicle, according to the story.

Police retrieved the 9-mm Sig Sauer handgun, which was loaded and had 11 additional rounds in the chamber, from the vehicle’s cupholder.

Israel’s alleged victims told police that they were walking to their car when they heard two men screaming at a man and woman who were also walking to the parking lot. Once the couple reached their vehicle, the pair claimed Israel pointed a gun at them, leaving them in fear for their lives, according to the story.

When Israel was arrested, he reportedly declined to answer questions because he didn’t want to incriminate himself.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
