Hackers claim breach of dental software firm iDentalSoft

Ransomware group Termite has claimed it stole data from iDentalSoft, a California-based developer of cloud dental practice management software. The company has not publicly confirmed a breach.

The group’s leak-site listing, recorded October 9, claims about 15GB of data, including treatment records, patient ID documents, consultation audio recordings, and API keys and credentials for connected services, according to Medix Dental IT. The claims have not been independently verified. A lawsuit, Cronan v. iDentalSoft, was filed October 13 in a U.S. district court in Northern California, though its allegations are not publicly available.

Medix advised practices using the platform to request written answers from iDentalSoft, change integration credentials and staff passwords, turn on multifactor authentication, and review their business associate agreements.

The claim follows several 2026 incidents involving dental vendors, adding to concerns about third-party security.
