Medical research has repeatedly shown the potential for stem cells to enhance the treatment of a range of illnesses, but the bulk of the research has involved stem cells from bone marrow and umbilical cord blood. The use of stem cells from dental pulp shows great potential, and may offer a less invasive and less expensive approach to extracting stem cells.
