Lares Research this week announced the release of its UltraLite CX, a ceramic bearing handpiece that does not need lubrication.
The absence of lubrication saves time and money, and eliminates the risk of lubricants getting on cavity prep, according to Lares.
The company's proprietary Debris-Shield Bearing Shield System minimizes debris accumulation in the bearings, Lares said.
Two head sizes are available: compact (Model 557) and full size (Model 757).
Lares handpieces feature higher cutting power, compact size, featherlight weight, and an innovative integrated fiber-optic handpiece lighting system, the company said. The UltraLite CX handpiece is Multiflex-compatible and has a 360° swivel. Push-button bur changing provides added convenience.
