West Virginia University (WVU) School of Dentistry in Morgantown is launching a philanthropic challenge in honor of orthodontist Dr. William Jarrett. Funds raised will support student research.

An anonymous donor will match all gifts up to $100,000 for a total of $200,000 donated through December 31, the university said. The funds will go toward the William M. Jarrett Endowment for Student Research, which supports pre- and postdoctoral dental student research at the university.

The fundraising challenge in memory of Jarrett coincides with the 50th anniversary of the WVU Department of Orthodontics, it said. To contribute, visit secure.give.wvu.edu and specify fund number 3R052 as the gift designation.
