Dr. Kim Martin, president of the New Mexico Dental Association (NMDA), gave a $25,000 personal gift to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine.

The gift, which Martin made in recognition of her children, will go into the Dental Excellence Fund, which supports the education of current and future dental students. In turn, the school named a pediatric suite in the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic after Martin's children, Jackson and Maeson.

When the dental school opened in 2021, it became the first on the U.S.-Mexico border and the first in Texas in more than 50 years.
