Previously interim dean, Dr. Yang Chai, PhD, has been officially named as dean of the University of Southern California (USC) Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry.

Chai is a professor in dentistry, stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, and otolaryngology. He will be appointed as the G. Donald and Marian James Montgomery Professor of Dentistry.
A member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the U.S. National Academy of Inventors, Chai’s goals are to lower education costs while maintaining high-quality training and integrating new technologies for future medical professionals.
