Carlos and Yorlady Rendon are facing criminal charges for allegedly running a dental practice for years out of an office building in Orlando, FL. Authorities claim Carlos posed as a dentist and his sister posed as an assistant, according to the story.
It is unclear how many patients reportedly received dental services from the siblings, but at least one woman was left with a gum infection and disfigurement after receiving 20 veneers. The woman claims the imposter dentist shaved her teeth down and left her with veneers so big that the look of them made her want to cry. Yorlady Rendon is believed to have assisted in this woman’s procedure, according to the story.
The siblings don’t have dental licenses. Carlos is a licensed cosmetologist, according to Florida Department of Health records, according to the story.
Authorities have not yet shared how the fake dental practice was discovered or whether any other charges are pending, according to the story.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
