An Ohio woman accused of operating an unlicensed dental clinic for more than two years, which generated more than $400,000, pleaded not guilty to the charges on May 18, according to multiple news stories.

The bond for Jazemen Lyons, 37, of Cleveland, was set at $10,000, according to the stories.

Earlier in May, Lyons was arrested and indicted on two counts of telecommunications fraud, two counts of money laundering, one count of possessing criminal tools, one count of trademark counterfeiting, and one count of prohibitions concerning pure food and drugs.

Between January 2022 and July 2025, Lyons purportedly owned and operated Smile Lounge in Shaker Heights, OH. During that time, Lyons allegedly provided dental and orthodontic services, though she is not licensed as a dentist. Her alleged illegal dentistry generated more than $400,000 in proceeds.

Some clients came forward, alleging that they were left with severe, long-term damage after Lyons performed procedures on them, including placing veneers.

At Smile Lounge, Lyons was reportedly in possession of hydrofluoric acid etching materials, which are used to place veneers, bonding materials, composites and restoratives, hyaluronic acid fillers, and dental molds.
