The State of Florida Department of Health has ordered the emergency suspension of a dentist's license who was arrested in June for allegedly tasing and firing a gun at a woman while holding her captive for hours until she escaped.
On August 20, the department signed an order immediately suspending Dr. Sergey Korol, 63, who owns a practice in West Palm Beach, FL.
A proceeding seeking formal discipline for Korol, who was charged in June with false imprisonment, aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and firing a missile into an occupied dwelling, will be held in the future, according to the order.

The incident involving Korol began at a home on the morning of June 20 and continued through June 21.
After Korol and his alleged victim began drinking and discussing ongoing problems in their relationship, she claimed that he became moody and increasingly erratic. Korol allegedly accused her of infidelity and made threats of violence.
The woman claimed that Korol shocked her multiple times with a taser gun, as well as hit and choked her. Also, she alleged that he tied her to a chair, used a rope and straps to tie her to a bed, and placed a restraint around her neck. Police saw bruises, cuts, and swelling on her body that were consistent with her account.
At some point during the ordeal, the woman claimed that Korol got a revolver, threatened to kill her, and fired a shot next to her face.
Eventually, the situation de-escalated, allowing the woman to get ahold of her phone and contact a family member, who called the police. At some point, Korol allegedly exited the room where the victim was, and she escaped from the house.
Once the woman was safe, police took Korol into custody.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
