DenteMax offers Medicare network

DenteMax is offering a network of dental providers approved for U.S. Medicare dental benefits, the company announced.

While ordinary Medicare does not include dental benefits, the U.S. government pays private insurers to offer health coverage for seniors -- sometimes including dental benefits -- as an alternative to Medicare.

DenteMax is not an insurance company but rather administers networks of dental practices that it leases to insurers.

"Dental insurers and third-party benefit administrators can feel confident about leasing our new network, as it offers their members access, savings, and complies with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services [CMS]," said Melissa Wagner, vice president of sales and marketing.

DenteMax credentials all of its network dentists through a National Committee for Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission Accredited Credentials Verification Organization, the company said. Medicare providers meet these requirements and are also subject to additional credentialing per CMS, it added.

"While there are no set CMS guidelines for dental networks, DenteMax has gone the extra mile and applied CMS requirements for medical doctors to the dentists in our network. The end result is the largest, seamless Medicare dental network," said Mike Miller, vice president of dental networks at DenteMax, in a press release.
