Balanced Pharma’s acid-free anesthetic cartridge gets patent

Dentist Needle Patient

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Balanced Pharma a second patent for its cartridge technology that allows for the delivery of acid-free local anesthetics for dentistry.

BPI-001, its new drug candidate, is a local anesthetic intended specifically for the dental market and will be supplied in a standard dental cartridge. Its formula consists of buffered lidocaine and epinephrine, and it is free from the acid that is typically contained in local anesthetics. The new cartridge is designed to allow dentists to administer faster-acting, less painful, more reliable numbing injections.
