Dr. Tom Giacobbi continues his Just a Minute, Doc series by sharing tips on how to build the pediatric part of your dental practice.

Video transcript

"Yes, Sarah, I would be happy to sponsor Johnny's soccer team. Just email the paperwork over and we'll get the check right out to you. Oh, it's our pleasure. You have a good day. Bye, bye.

"Let's take a minute to talk about pediatric dentistry. Young patients are absolutely the lifeblood of a growing dental practice, and it's really important to just take some time to connect with kids.

"One way is reach out to one of the teachers that's no doubt a patient in your practice and see if you can visit their school during Children's Dental Health Month. Children are often the first member of the family to be seen in the dental practice, the proverbial canary in a coal mine. So be mindful of how you are with the kids. The parents are absolutely paying attention. So keep it light.

"You're not going to win every time, but you can make a great impression on both that kid and their parents.

Now, let's get back to work."
