Sunstar Americas announced the launch of its GUM PerioBalance daily dental probiotic.
PerioBalance comes in a mint-flavored lozenge. "Clinical results have shown a 42% decrease in moderate-to-severe plaque after 28 days," according to Sunstar.
Lactobacillus reuteri Prodentis, the patented key ingredient in GUM PerioBalance, is "a unique blend of probiotics specifically formulated to provide oral health benefits by balancing the oral environment," Sunstar stated. It has been clinically demonstrated to improve oral health in studies that show that regular consumption of a daily probiotic can help to increase the number of "good" bacteria, according to the company.
