Ye, best known as Kanye West, and Bianca Censori, his wife, intend to file a malpractice lawsuit against his ex-dentist, claiming that he supplied him with large tanks of nitrous oxide, getting him hooked on laughing gas, which has resulted in paralyzing neurological damage, according to multiple stories.

On May 1, a legal team representing the rapper and Censori filed a notice of intent to sue California-based celebrity dentist Dr. Thomas Connelly. Ye became a patient of Connelly in January 2024 when the dentist helped design and place Ye’s $850,000 titanium prosthodontics, which the rapper has since had removed and replaced with a diamond grill.

Since then, Ye claims that Connelly engaged in many “inappropriate and dangerous” practices that were outside the scope of any legitimate standard of care, including allegedly providing excessive amounts of nitrous oxide for recreational purposes, encouraging unsupervised self-administration of the sedative, and continuing treatment despite clear adverse neurological and behavioral symptoms.

Furthermore, Connelly, the director of cosmetic and restorative dentistry at the Roxbury Institute in Beverly Hills, CA, allegedly charged $50,000 monthly for an ongoing supply of laughing gas and related services, according to the stories.

Ye alleges that his nitrous oxide addiction has led to severe neurological damage, resulting in psychological and emotional trauma, as well as harm to his marriage to Censori and financial strain. Censori alleges that the addiction not only left her deprived of Ye’s companionship, marital relationship, and support but forced her to care for him in his deteriorating state, according to the stories.

Moreover, Ye claims that Connelly tried to capture control of his Yeezy brand while the star was incapacitated with the drugs with the dentist allegedly provided him.

In the suit, Ye intends to ask the court for Connelly to hand over the rapper’s medical and billing records and communications regarding deliveries of laughing gas to him.

This isn’t the first time these bombshell allegations have been made. In August 2024, Ye’s ex-chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, who worked for the rapper from 2022 to May 2024, claimed in a legal affidavit that Connelly engaged in “reckless, unethical, dishonest, explorative and, upon information and belief, illegal conduct” by providing large quantities of nitrous oxide to his former boss.

At the time, Yiannopoulos, who stated that he made the same allegations in a complaint filed with the Dental Board of California, noted in the affidavit that he was making these claims out of "urgent concern" for Ye's health and safety and believes Connelly should have his license suspended for the alleged actions.

Connelly, whose other clients have included rappers Post Malone and DaBaby, has denied the allegations since they surfaced in 2024.
