Planmeca has launched the Planmeca Onyx intraoral scanner, now available for order after its debut at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2025.
The scanner supports both wired and wireless operation and is designed for all clinical indications, from routine checkups and restorative cases to orthodontics, implantology, and maxillofacial surgery planning. Scanning is performed and processed within the Planmeca Romexis software platform, and scans are instantly available on any Romexis workstation across the clinic network after a one-time setup.
As part of the Planmeca Pulse digital ecosystem, the Onyx integrates with the company's CAD/CAM portfolio, allowing designs to be transferred directly to Planmeca PlanMill milling units or the Planmeca Creo X 3D printer.
"With Planmeca Onyx, our goal was to create a scanner that adapts to the way clinicians work -- not the other way around," said Pontus Degerlund, CAD/CAM director at Planmeca.
The scanner is manufactured in Finland.
