Carestream donates imaging system to UAB dental school

Carestream Dental has donated a CS 9300C imaging system to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry.

The donation was made in honor of orthodontist David Sarver, DMD, as part of a lifetime achievement award in recognition of nearly 20 years consulting for Carestream. As a consultant, he helped design and develop the CS orthodontic imaging software.

"We are deeply appreciative of Carestream Dental's gift in honor of Dr. David Sarver, a UAB School of Dentistry alumnus," stated Michael Reddy, DMD, dean of the dental school, in a press release. "Staying at the forefront of technological advances is one of the school's highest strategic priorities."

"I served at UAB as a clinical associate professor for 15 years and worked closely with many teachers at the university," Sarver stated. "I appreciate their dedication to both their students and the dental profession. I owe them a real debt personally, and it was a simple choice for me to designate UAB as the recipient of Carestream Dental's very generous gift."
