The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation has donated $1 million to the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry to establish at least two scholarships for students with financial hardships.
The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation Endowed Scholarship for Opportunity will be awarded to students with high academic achievement, who are interested in working in underserved areas, and who have experienced financial hardships.
UCSF and Delta Dental hope the scholarships will address the maldistribution of dentists in the state. The first scholarship recipients will be announced in fall 2020.
