High Point University (HPU) broke ground on September 23 on a new 77,500-sq-ft facility that will be home to the Workman School of Dental Medicine, North Carolina’s only private dental school.

Dr. Rick Workman, the founder of dental service organization Heartland Dental and HPU’s dental innovator in residence, and Angie Workman gifted HPU $32 million via the Rick and Angie Workman Foundation. The school expects to welcome its first cohort of dental students in the fall of 2024.
