EIOH gets $2M to expand training, health initiatives

The University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) has received a $2.1 million federal grant to launch a new training program called Excellence in Clinical Education and Leadership for Specialty Dental Care (EXCEL).

The program aims to expand dental care in underserved communities and improve care for patients with complex medical needs and disabilities.

Funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration over five years, EXCEL includes a two-year dental Master of Public Health/residency program with public health training and clinical rotations, a general dentistry fellowship focused on specialty care, and an oral health resource center promoting education, literacy, and equity.
