Theodent has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its Rennou Varnish, making it the first fluoride-free cavity varnish approved for professional use in the U.S, Theodent said in a press release announcing the approval.
The product uses a cacao-derived technology called Rennou instead of fluoride. It is designed to treat dentinal hypersensitivity and is available by prescription only, according to the company.
