A dental assistant was sentenced after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting three children between the ages of 5 and 9 while they were patients at a dental practice in California, according to multiple news stories.
Tommy Medina, 35, who worked as a dental assistant at OC Kids Dental Care in Santa Ana, CA, was sentenced on April 9 to 15 years to life in prison. Also, he must register as a sex offender.
In 2015, Medina was charged with taking a 5-year-old girl in 2013 and a 6-year-old girl in 2014 by themselves into a practice exam room and sexually assaulting them.
After the cases came to light, another alleged victim came forward. The 9-year-old claimed that she went to the practice for a dental procedure and was escorted to a private room. Once there, Medina reportedly placed her on a bed and covered her eyes with a leather cloth before assaulting her, according to the stories.
