A judge ordered a woman in Wisconsin who allegedly posed as a dentist to pay $144,000 to a customer who sued her for allegedly destroying her teeth, according to a story recently published in WTMJ-TV Milwaukee.

Jessica Stewart, owner of the now-closed Dr. J Dental Spa in Milwaukee, must pay Felisha Edwards for allegedly violating state law by engaging in fraudulent business practices. Edwards has 20 years to pay the judgment, according to the story.

In 2025, Edwards reportedly paid almost $6,000 for veneers after seeing Stewart’s dental services posted on social media. Edwards claimed her veneers fell out a few days after receiving them, according to the story.

Edwards claimed she was left in pain, her teeth felt sensitive, and she was left with gaps, which prompted her to file a civil lawsuit against Stewart.

Over the years, Stewart has had multiple complaints from customers levied against her, according to records from Wisconsin's Department of Safety and Professional Services. Since Stewart never had a dental license, the department could not take any action against her, according to the story.

No criminal charges were filed against Stewart because the case was never investigated by authorities.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
