With all the talk about artificial intelligence and other technology making its way into dentistry, should a dentist or dental team member be worried about his or her job going away? Dr. Tom Giacobbi has some thoughts about that in this week's Just a Minute, Doc installment.

"Job security alert: Robotics is coming to dentistry, but your job is safe and sound for many years to come.
"Robots are currently precision-placing implants and helping with tooth preparations. However, the hardest thing, as you might expect for a robot to deal with, is a patient that moves in unpredictable ways. So your job is fully secure, because you have the ability to adapt and adjust to an awake patient.
"Ladies and gentlemen, robots may help us down the road and may provide wonderful improvements to our treatment for years to come. But, for now, your job is safe and secure, so let's get back to work."
