Align Technology awards funding for orthodontic, dental research

Align Technology has awarded nine research grants under its 11th annual research award program.

The company said it awarded a total of $225,000 in research grants for projects seeking to better understand treatment in orthodontics and dentistry.

The Americas research award recipients are as follows:

  • University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada; primary investigator, Dr. Tarek El-Bialy
  • University of Toronto in Canada; primary investigator, Dr. Siew-Ging Gong
  • Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL; primary investigator, Dr. Tabaa Sawsan
  • University of Washington in Seattle; primary investigator, Dr. Greg Huang

The European research award recipients are as follows:

  • National Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece; Dr. Iosif Sifakakis
  • University of Campania in Naples, Italy; primary investigator, Dr. Letizia Perillo
  • University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in Italy; primary investigator, Dr. Roberta Lione
  • University of Turin in Italy; primary investigator, Dr. Bruni Alessandro

The Asia-Pacific research award recipient is Stomatology Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University in Shaanxi, China; primary Investigator, Dr. Yu-cheng Guo.
