Leave it to Dr. Oz to get plenty of Instagram love (and comments) for helping take out a tooth.
Of course, it wasn't just any tooth. It was the tooth of 6-year-old Carmen Baldwin, the daughter of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin. Yes, that Alec Baldwin.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Dr. Oz showed his method for taking out the tooth as family members cheered on their support for Carmen.
Watch Dr. Oz and his technique in the video below.
A doctor is always on call...even when it’s the Tooth Fairy’s territory. I helped @hilariabaldwin’s eldest daughter Carmen pull out a loose tooth. (@alecbaldwininsta would be in this video, but he’s not one for the sight of blood.) I used a string to eject the tooth (it keeps the child from accidentally swallowing the tooth...and beats the old string and door trick). I’m curious about your best tactics for removing baby teeth. An apple? Weeks of wiggling? Just let them fall out? And dare I ask what the going rate is for the Tooth Fairy? (My guess is a few bucks.) Tell me in the comments! 🎥: @daphneoz . . Dr. Oz received plenty of comments on both the technique he employed and the going rate for teeth these days. One comment had the first tooth costing the Tooth Fairy $20, while every tooth after that cost a glitter-coated $2 bill.
What do you think the going rate for a tooth should be? The average lost tooth now fetches $3.70, with the first lost tooth getting an average of $4.96, according to Delta Dental's annual Original Tooth Fairy poll.
