Henry Schein increases income, dental sales in Q2

Henry Schein has reported higher net income and dental sales for its fiscal second quarter of 2017.

For the quarter (end-July 1), the company reported net income of $136.1 million, an increase of 13.3% compared with the second quarter of 2016. The second quarter of 2016 included a litigation settlement expense of $5.3 million pretax, the company noted.

Net sales were $3.1 billion, an increase of 6.5% compared with the same quarter last year, and dental sales for the quarter increased 8.4% to $1.5 billion.

In addition, the company noted that it will begin offering the full range of Dentsply Sirona equipment on September 1, 2017.
