Hu-Friedy has unveiled its Empowerment Kit, a new set of hand scalers designed to improve the effectiveness of ultrasonic and Airflow treatment protocols.
The kit consists of a set of instruments designed to optimize the detection and removal of residual calculus from interproximal and subgingival areas, according to the firm. The scalers feature blades that are 10% thinner on average and utilize the company's EverEdge 2.0 cutting edge.
The Empowerment Kit. Image courtesy of Hu-Friedy.What's more, the instruments are color-coded, enabling quick identification of the scalers and curettes that correspond to specific anatomical areas of the mouth and tooth surface, Hu-Friedy said.
The Empowerment Kit is designed to be utilized in any preventive and hygiene procedures following preliminary treatment using ultrasonic scaling and Airflow, according to the company. Each standard kit includes seven scalers and an explorer, housed in an Infinity Series cassette with an additional accessory area to store an Airflow handpiece or similar power instrument, the vendor said.
Clinicians can also choose from 11 different scalers to customize the kit.
