Dear DrBicuspid Member,

Hello and happy Friday from Chicago! As I write this, I’m preparing to give my first talk of the day here to dentists and dental assistants on the value and importance of working together. It’s one of my favorite courses to present … and one of the most needed right now as well.

Certainly, new products and discussions about the role of artificial intelligence in the dental practice have been at the forefront while I have been in the Windy City. However, I’ve also had plenty of people come up to me and talk about the value they find each day when they open their DrBicuspid email. I am so proud of what my team accomplishes every day, and I’m honored that it is making a difference in the lives of dentists and dental team members around the world.

One of my focuses since coming back on board as editor in chief has been to build up the articles that matter to team members. With that, I love this article from Kristin Goodfellow, RDH, that speaks to hygienists at every stage of their careers. Please share it with a hygienist you know may need some encouragement.

I’ll admit when the week started that I didn’t think about the impact of dental implants when going clubbing, but this article opened my eyes to what others may see with implants under a black light.

Additionally, I found this article fascinating, as it detailed the facial depression that occurred after a patient underwent a root canal. Plus, we always hear that everything is bigger in Texas, right? Well, dental students may be showing that with their early practice with a key dental instrument

Finally, we have an update on the Louisiana dentist who was attacked by a patient and faces a long road of healing ahead. This story has gathered a lot of attention, and the update provides more understanding about what happened and what is next.

Next week, I will have a wrap-up of what I saw here in Chicago, so keep an eye out for that. Until then, I wish you a wonderful weekend ahead!
