ADHA makes changes to better engagement, policy response

The American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) is replacing its house of delegates with a new governance model to improve flexibility and increase member involvement.

The new structure includes a nine-member board of directors and allows all members to submit policy proposals year-round. Additionally, members can vote for governance committee members, which ADHA said aims to broaden participation beyond the previous annual cycle. Furthermore, the vice president will now become president-elect. A new governance committee will help select board candidates, with two members elected by ADHA’s voting members.
