Ill. school gets $3.5M to fund dental education

U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin announced $3.5 million in federal funding for Parkland College in Illinois to build a new dental clinic and training facility.

The funding, secured through the fiscal year 2026 appropriations package, seeks to expand the college’s dental hygienist program enrollment by 40%. The new facility hopes to increase access to dental care in the community and help reduce patient wait times.
