A man was arrested for allegedly threatening to leave a pipe bomb at an Aspen Dental dental service organization (DSO) practice in Iowa, according to a new story published July 30 in The Messenger.

Robert Ulicki, 75, of Lehigh, IA, was charged with threat, explosive or incendiary device, and first-degree harassment for reportedly threatening to bomb Aspen Dental in Fort Dodge, IA.

On July 29, Ulicki waived his right to a preliminary hearing, according to the story.

On April 14, Ulicki allegedly told an Aspen Dental employee that he knows how to make a pipe bomb and that an incendiary device was placed at the practice, according to the story. It is not clear if the man is a patient of the practice.

There was no fire or explosion at the practice, and no bomb was found, according to the story.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only practice to receive a bomb threat in recent weeks. In June, a patient was arrested for allegedly threatening to blow up a dental practice in Missouri, forcing the business to evacuate and close for the day. James Trotter, 68, was charged with making terrorist threats in the second degree after reportedly calling My Dentist in Joplin, MO, multiple times and making vague threats.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
