Michael McKee, of Chicago, is accused of murdering his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her dentist husband, Dr. Spencer Tepe. McKee, who finalized his divorce from Tepe in 2017, was charged with two counts of murder.

Neighborhood surveillance in Columbus, OH, helped authorities identify McKee as a suspect. Eventually, police tracked his vehicle to Illinois, where he was arrested. Police have not provided any details about a possible motive.

After Spencer Tepe, 37, failed to show up for work at Athens Dental Depot in Columbus, OH, a wellness check revealed that the dentist and his wife, 39, were found dead on December 30 at their upscale home in Ohio. Their two young children, ages 4 and 1, were found crying but unharmed.

The dentist was reportedly shot multiple times, and his wife was shot once. No firearm was found at the residence, and there were no signs of forced entry.

On the morning of December 30, the owner of Athens Dental Depot called 911 after Tepe uncharacteristically failed to show up for work and neither he nor his wife could be reached. Additionally, co-workers went to the Tepe home, and when they arrived, they heard children crying, but no one answered the door. Not long after that, someone called the police, saying Spencer Tepe’s body could be seen inside the home, and he appeared dead.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
