Two U.K. drug dealers, one of whom was busted after he sent a picture of his new teeth while sitting in the dental chair to the other, were sentenced to several years in prison, according to a press release from South Wales Police.
Coran Davies, 23, was sentenced on April 9 to 48 months in prison, and Dale Howell, 25, was sentenced to 36 months in prison after pleading guilty to supplying class A drugs and cannabis and acquiring criminal property, according to the press release.
Davies was arrested after police used facial recognition technology on the image he sent to the phone of his drug dealer friend. The image Davies sent was of him sitting in a dental chair after he got new teeth in Turkey. Along with the image, he sent messages that referenced supplying cocaine and cannabis, according to the press release.
Unfortunately for Davies, his drug dealer friend’s phone was being monitored by the police as part of an ongoing investigation.
In March 2026, police spotted Davies while driving and arrested him. Howell, who was his passenger, was also arrested. When Davies and Howell were searched, they were found to be in possession of cocaine, cannabis, and thousands of pounds in cash, according to the press release.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time someone has had a run-in with the law while in the dental chair. In 2024, a drug trafficking kingpin, whom police identified after he sent a selfie at the dentist to his partner in crime, was sentenced to six years plus six months in jail.
Khan Gorgulu, who was found guilty of conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs following an eight-day jury trial, managed to keep his identity a secret until he sent the photo of himself at a dentist's office to Giovanni Spada, the purported fellow leader of their organized crime group, which supplied cocaine and marijuana throughout a ritzy area in the U.K. known for being a favorite celebrity locale. The 23-year-old Cheshire, England, resident was identified when police found the selfie among messages the pair shared about drug dealing.
