Gendex launches Orthoralix 8500 panoramic system

Gendex Dental Systems has launched the Orthoralix 8500 DDE digital panoramic system.

Building on the previous 8500, the new system features articulated motion technology for enhanced focal detection, the company said. This morphology-tracing feature follows the patient's focal trough to ensure constant focus across the image and create a highly diagnostic image with consistent magnification, according to Gendex.

The system also features automatic exposure control, which detects optimum radiographic exposure for a specific area as the x-ray is taken to enhance contrast. The 0.4-mm focal spot further improves image quality, Gendex noted.

Along with child and adult pan projections, Gendex added temporomandibular joint imaging to the new 8500.

"Research indicates that adding panoramics to the practice increases diagnostics and also increases production," said Chuck Ravetto, vice president of marketing for Gendex, in a press release. "We are proud to offer the new 8500 not only for its highly desired features, but because it is a wise investment that helps dentists grow their practices."
