Churchill's false teeth fetch more than $25K

Everyone knows that dentures can be expensive, but are they worth more than $25,000?

They are if they once belonged to Winston Churchill.

London auctioneers Bonham's reported that a set of gold false teeth belonging to the late prime minister were auctioned off Wednesday for 16,000 pounds, according to a news story on Digitalspy.com.

"These particular dentures were designed especially by his dentist to be a loose fix because Churchill had had trouble with his teeth, ever since [he was] a child," said Bonham's specialist Lionel Willis in the story. "He always had a sort of speech impediment, which gave him a slight lisp when he was public speaking, and this denture was designed to compensate."

Last July, a partial set of dentures worn by Churchill sold at auction for more than $23,000.
