A dentist in Massachusetts accused of hiding a secret recording device in a staff bathroom was arraigned on August 20, according to a press release from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
Dr. Patrick Tu Huynh, 35, of Marlborough, MA, was arraigned on seven counts of photographing a person in a state of nudity without consent, two counts of unlawful wiretap, and destruction of property after he allegedly placed a camera inside the toilet at a staff bathroom at the New England Dental Group where he worked.
At his arraignment, Huynh’s bail was set at $10,000, and he was ordered to stay away from the dental practice and have no contact with victims. Additionally, Huynh was ordered to surrender his passport, according to the press release.
In May 2025, a dental assistant at the practice located a camera allegedly found taped to the toilet in the staff bathroom. The assistant reported this to Huynh. Huynh allegedly told her that he would try to find out who planted the camera.
Three months later, the same dental assistant contacted the police after finding an identical camera attached inside the same toilet with dental wax and medical tape, according to the press release.
The police investigation revealed that Huynh allegedly placed the camera inside the toilet to capture audio and video recordings of dental practice staff members using the bathroom. Police said the camera captured multiple videos of victims, as well as images of the defendant appearing to adjust and clean the camera lens while it was in the toilet.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
